Creating a splash with a mix of traditional skills and new painting techniques, the resident maestro at Sunny Art Studio, Yinjie, exhibits his work internationally, as well as teaching art classes, locally. Yinjie groups painting enthusiasts of all abilities, at his gallery in Camberwell, to learn about portraits, landscapes, still life, and life drawing. Pupils venturing through this vibrant world work in oil, acrylic, and watercolour, for varied experimentation and inspiration. Alongside busy fingers are always a smattering of coffee and biscuits penciled in to keep mouths just as active.
Yinjie will get eager students into line for a full day workshop, divided into two, three hour sessions with an hour break in between. Students will be given the choice of opting for sessions that run from morning to late afternoon, or afternoon to evening pending on personal preference. Students will learn about media usage and materials, the selection of subject matter, colour, composition, and the use of proportion. The workshop will also involve individual attention to students’ work and the ability to draw on expert knowledge in case anyone discovers their inner Picasso.
