Hoopdance has been around for perhaps as long as 3,000 years. There are hoop traditions in various cultures, notably native American Indian hoopdance in which small hoops are looped around the body to make animal shapes, culminating in a globe. Hoopdance has had a resurgence in the west, starting in the US and now in the UK and Europe. With more and more people using hoops, hoopdance definitely deserves its own category.

I am a professional stage performer currently part of Afro Celt Sound System.I offer West African dance classes from Senegal (Sabar), Mali (uolosso), Guinea (dundumba, balanta), Burkina Faso (bete). I am available during the week or at weekends. I can travel or you can come to SW2 London. All levels and ages are welcome. £25 per hour.

Bearded Kitten is an awesome interactive entertainment company working with many of the top festivals and venues in the country. We have just had some exciting news – this year we will be taking our wicked concept party – 40’s to 00’s to the Camden Crawl for the official end of show party were on just after Razorlight! The party spans each decade from the 40’s to the 00’s and has performances in line with the era. So flapper girls – to 90’s ravers and beyond. We are looking for a few dance troupes to come and perform for one (or possibly more) on 1st May at the Electric Ballroom. So if you think you can manage to bring a decade to life through dance please get in touch. It is a very prestigious party with many industry professionals going to be in attendance, so great exposure for all the performers. Unfortunately we can’t offer any payment or cover travel and we need troupes with their own costumes. But it is going to be a really fun day and we are not expecting any one group to dance all night! We would need about five people to come along. Hi, I just wanted to share with you that I discovered this brilliant dance Brazilian Zouk that has turned into my favourite past time since I first tried it. It's a partner dance but what I like most about it is that the music it's danced to can be so different- from RnB, Reggeaton, Pop, Latin and even exotic Middle Eastern sound. Also very nice people, friendly club and you can stay after the class to practice till late. It's on Thursdays at Surya, N1 9JL. 7.15pm is the start time
